Liz Friedlander directs Take the Lead dance movie

(Director) makes her feature film directorial debut with "Take The Lead." Recognized as one of the music clip industry's pre-eminent directors, Friedlander has many music videos to her credit. She has worked with such artistic legends as U2, Celine Dion and REM. Her video for Michelle Branch, 'Everywhere,' was nominated for MTV's Viewer's Choice Video of 2002. Prior to working as a video director, Friedlander worked as a video producer, teaming up with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and others. She has also worked as an editor on over eighty music videos.
She continued her studies at the University of California Santa Cruz before moving to UCLA's Film School where she continued to direct theatre productions. Her short film "Eleven-Twenty" won the Frank S. Glicksman award at UCLA.
